Seishun bot

Seishun bot (青春bot) is an illustrator and creator based in Tokyo. A graduate of the Department of Visual Communication Design in the Faculty of Art and Design at Musashino Art University, Seishun bot began posting illustrations as a hobby around 2018 and within a few years had gathered a following of several hundred thousand across Instagram, TikTok and X, mostly among teenagers and people in their early twenties.

Early works placed girls in school uniform against wide seas and skies; the breakthrough came with short illustrated observations on the arigachi, the familiar small truths, of young love, which pair clear, warm images with brief captions and found a wide response among Generation Z readers. The approach led to corporate collaborations, among them campaigns for Kirin Beverage and for Lotte's Coolish ice cream, and to a first book, Koi no Arigachi (Starts Publishing, 2023), whose source posts had gathered more than ten million likes on TikTok. A second volume followed in 2024.

Seishun bot's first solo exhibition, Koi no Arigachi-ten, which depicted youth in vivid colour, was held at 9DAYS GALLERY in Shibuya, Tokyo, in 2025. Seishun bot's work is presented in Europe by Tokiol.
